In the summer transfer window this year, Saudi Arabia made a significant impact on football market by luring top European players with lucrative contracts.
They signed prominent names like Cristiano Ronaldo in January and later added Sadio Mane, Kalidou Koulibaly, Marcelo Brozovic, Neymar, and others.
Real Madrid was also affected by Saudi Arabia’s spending spree, as their former captain and Ballon d’Or winner, Karim Benzema, chose to join Al-Ittihad
Saudi Arabia attempted to acquire two more Real Madrid stars, Luka Modric and David Alaba, offering them attractive deals. However, both players turned down the offers and decided to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu
Now, ESport3 reports that Saudi Arabia is already planning its next move in the European transfer market for the upcoming January window.
They intend to make another attempt to sign Modric and Alaba during the winter transfer period.
In addition to their pursuit of these two Real Madrid veterans, Saudi Arabia is also showing interest in several other players, including Manchester City’s Kevin De Bruyne, Barcelona’s Robert Lewandowski, and Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah, among others.
