Maddy Cusack, a member of Sheffield United’s women’s squad and also employed as a marketing executive for the club, has sadly passed away at the age of 27.
The club confirmed this devastating news on Thursday, revealing that Cusack had passed away on Wednesday.
Cusack, who had joined the Bramall Lane squad in January 2019, made a significant contribution to the team, featuring in 100 games in the previous season.
Stephen Bettis, the club’s chief executive, expressed the deep sorrow felt throughout the organization, stating, “This is heartbreaking news for everyone at Bramall Lane.” He highlighted Cusack’s friendly nature and dedication to her role, emphasizing the impact she had as a cherished member of the club and her family.

Prior to her time with Sheffield United, Cusack had a season with Birmingham.
