Real Madrid has reached a surprising and definitive conclusion regarding whether to sell Luka Modric or retain him.

Luka Modric is undeniably one of the all-time greats in the history of Real Madrid and football as a whole. When discussing him, it’s done with the utmost appreciation and respect.

However, the 38-year-old midfielder is currently facing a challenging phase at Real Madrid, as he’s not receiving the playing time he desires under Carlo Ancelotti.

Since the beginning of this season, Luka Modric has lost his regular spot in Real Madrid’s starting lineup. This can be attributed, among other factors, to the emergence of numerous talented young players in the Madrid squad, including Jude Bellingham, Aurelin Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, and Federico Valverde.

As it became evident that he was no longer an automatic starter, rumors began to circulate about a potential move to Saudi Arabia, where he could become one of the highest-paid players in the world. However, when a Real Madrid executive was questioned about this possibility, the response was clear.

According to information from renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid’s CEO, José Ángel Sánchez, stated, “Luka Modric to Saudi Arabia in January? There are no negotiations on the part of those responsible for the Saudi League to include Luka in January. At this time, we have no plans regarding his departure from the team.”

This statement from the club’s CEO dispels any immediate notions of Modric departing for Saudi Arabia. While he may not be a regular starter at the moment, Real Madrid is not actively seeking his departure, and there are no ongoing discussions with Saudi clubs regarding a potential transfer.

Looking ahead, Real Madrid is preparing for a crucial UEFA Champions League match against Sporting Braga, followed by a highly anticipated La Liga clash with FC Barcelona just three days later.

Luka Modric’s status at Real Madrid remains unchanged for the time being, despite recent speculations about a possible move to Saudi Arabia. The club’s CEO has clarified that there are currently no plans for his departure, underscoring the continued value and role of the midfield maestro in the Real Madrid setup.
