Mikel Arteta is considering a significant lineup change at Arsenal following a crucial mistake during the West Ham match. As part of this adjustment, Edu Gasper, Arsenal’s technical director, is actively pursuing a top-class player to potentially replace the key individual on the bench.

Arsenal, under the management of Mikel Arteta, has shown strong form at the start of the 2023/24 Premier League season. Nevertheless, concerns about the depth of the squad have emerged early in the campaign.

In the previous season, Arsenal came tantalizingly close to clinching their first league title since 2004 but ultimately missed out.

They held the top spot for an extended period, setting a top-flight record for the longest time leading the standings without securing the title. The team faced challenges as they neared the finish line, with signs of fatigue from the demanding schedule, and injuries to key players highlighted the need for greater squad depth.

Therefore, during the summer transfer window, Arteta and Edu were proactive in bolstering the team with new additions. However, this season, injuries have continued to be a concern. As a result, further reinforcements may be required during the upcoming winter transfer window.

Numerous players have been linked to a potential move to Arsenal in January, and Arteta is particularly interested in versatile players who can cover multiple positions.

    Transfer Targets:

Despite signing Gabriel Jesus just last summer, Arsenal has been linked with two additional forwards: Ivan Toney from Brentford and Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.

Reports suggest that Brentford would demand a transfer fee of no less than £100 million for Ivan Toney, who is highly regarded by Arsenal due to his goal-scoring prowess in the Premier League.

Arsenal has also been linked to Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord. This Mexican striker is highly sought after by Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Tottenham. Feyenoord values Gimenez at €100 million (£86 million), a price considered reasonable given his impressive performance, scoring 13 goals in ten league matches this season.

Andre Trindade, a Brazilian player with a £34 million release clause at Fluminense, is reportedly of interest to Arsenal. Trindade, who rejected a move to Liverpool earlier in the summer, is believed to be a defensive midfielder highly regarded by the North London club.

Arteta is also reportedly keeping an eye on Fiorentina’s emerging talent, Michael Kayode, who has been making a name for himself in Serie A this season. Arsenal sent scouts to watch the right-back in action, showing significant interest in acquiring his services.
