Manchester United extended a weekly offer of £335,000 to secure the services of a promising young winger from Real Madrid.

Manchester United had shown keen interest in securing the services of Real Madrid’s Brazilian sensation, Vinicius Jr., even going as far as offering him a highly lucrative contract. However, the 23-year-old winger has opted to extend his stay with the Los Blancos, declining a substantial financial package from the English club.

According to reports from Defensa Central, Vinicius Jr. was earning approximately 3 million euros per season at Real Madrid, but Manchester United was ready to present a jaw-dropping deal, exceeding 20 million euros per season, equivalent to £335,000 a week. Nevertheless, the Brazilian international decided to remain at the Bernabeu, agreeing to a contract worth 10 million euros per season.

Vinicius Jr. has established himself as one of the premier attacking talents in the world and has achieved remarkable success with Real Madrid.

Notably, he scored the winning goal in the UEFA Champions League final against Liverpool in Paris last year. In the 2022-23 season, he contributed significantly with 23 goals and 21 assists in all competitions for the 14-time European champions.

In the current campaign, the speedy forward has already started nine games under the management of Carlo Ancelotti and has directly contributed to six goals, comprising three goals and three assists. His primary position is on the left flank, which aligns with Marcus Rashford’s role at Old Trafford, and Rashford was a standout performer for Manchester United in the previous season.

While Vinicius Jr. would have undoubtedly bolstered Manchester United’s attack under Erik ten Hag, the club’s foremost concern remains its defensive frailty. The team has consistently conceded goals, making it imperative to prioritize strengthening the defense in the upcoming transfer window.
