A key player for Arsenal suffered a severe injury following a collision with the Burnley goalkeeper in yesterday’s match.

Despite securing the game-winning goal against Burnley, Arsenal’s Leandro Trossard suffered a significant injury towards the end of the first half. The Belgian forward had to be substituted by Arsenal’s medical staff while clutching his arm after colliding with the post following his headed goal in the 45th minute.

The injury occurred after a period of treatment for the former Brighton player, who had previously lain on the turf inside the Arsenal box. Trossard’s courageous contribution, however, provided Mikel Arteta’s squad with the lead just before halftime.

Trossard, still holding his right arm carefully, managed to play a few moments before the halftime whistle.

The collision with both players and the woodwork also involved Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford. Bukayo Saka delivered a header from the back post, and Trossard rose highest to direct it into the net.

Arsenal displayed dominance in the first 45 minutes, controlling the ball in the opponent’s half and creating numerous scoring opportunities.

Kai Havertz had two notable chances, heading over from a corner and having a shot blocked inside the box.

Saka came close to breaking the deadlock earlier with a back-post header that created confusion among Charlie Taylor, Trafford, and Jordan Beyer.

The 23-year-old centre-back almost inadvertently scored an own goal, heading past Trafford into an empty net. However, the attempt was clawed out on the line and deemed a foul in the build-up by Saka.

Trossard, who was initially positioned at the center, with Eddie Nketiah on the bench, was allowed to continue after halftime despite the injury concern.

Arsenal’s performance in the first half showcased effective ball movement and offensive prowess, but Trossard’s injury added a note of concern to an otherwise positive outing against Burnley.

The second half would bring uncertainties about Trossard’s fitness and the impact on Arsenal’s attacking dynamics.
