Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is earnestly requesting permission from Pep Guardiola to secure the services of a highly talented Manchester City star.

According to reports originating from Spain, Real Madrid is contemplating a significant £174 million bid for Erling Haaland in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Haaland, who joined Manchester City for £51 million in the previous year, enjoyed an exceptional debut season, contributing significantly to the team’s historic treble with an impressive tally of 52 goals.

While there have been hints about a potential clause in Haaland’s contract with City, the specifics have remained elusive.

As per Spanish outlet AS, there is an alleged €200 million option that is poised to become active next summer, prompting Real Madrid’s interest in securing the services of the prolific Norwegian striker.

Although Real Madrid has harbored a long-standing interest in Haaland, recent reports suggest a shift in focus from Kylian Mbappe to the Manchester City star. The club is hopeful that the presence of Jude Bellingham, another rising talent, could play a pivotal role in persuading Haaland to make the move to the Spanish capital.

In a surprising turn of events, Chelsea’s last-minute acquisition of Cole Palmer on the deadline day is reported to have followed an unsuccessful pursuit of Jeremy Doku, who ultimately joined Manchester City.

Pep Guardiola’s side successfully secured Doku’s services for a fee of £55.5 million from Rennes in August, and the Belgian has made an impressive impact at Manchester City, tallying three goals and six assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.

Chelsea had purportedly targeted Doku for a move to Stamford Bridge but also made a late attempt to sign Michael Olise from Crystal Palace. Having missed out on both these targets, Chelsea opted for the £42.5 million acquisition of Palmer. Since his arrival, Palmer has become a regular starter under the management of Mauricio Pochettino, contributing three goals and four assists.

This upcoming summer transfer saga involving Haaland and Real Madrid adds another layer of intrigue to the dynamic landscape of football transfers, while Chelsea’s maneuvering in the transfer market reflects the complexities and uncertainties that characterize the pursuit of top talent in the world of football.
