The Premier League has recently disclosed a startling VAR error committed by the referees in the Chelsea vs. Brighton match, putting the PGMOL (Professional Game Match Officials Limited) under examination for an unexpected mistake made by the referee during the game.

Chelsea secured a hard-fought victory against Brighton with a 3-2 win at Stamford Bridge, despite playing with one man down for more than half of the game.

The triumph highlighted the resilience and determination of the team. However, amid the celebration of the three crucial points, concerns arose that Mauricio Pochettino, Chelsea’s manager, needs to address.

Enzo Fernandez emerged as a key player, showcasing his excellence since joining Stamford Bridge.

His two Premier League goals and a skillful passing effort were instrumental in keeping Chelsea in control. Levi Colwill, playing against his former loan club, contributed defensively and secured a header to aid the team’s victory. Despite imperfections, Mykhaylo Mudryk displayed moments of brilliance, including drawing a penalty that gave Chelsea a 3-1 lead.

Despite these standout performances, a glaring issue surfaced in Chelsea’s disciplinary concerns.

Pochettino faced a serious problem as Conor Gallagher, wearing the armband, received a second yellow card for a reckless challenge on Billy Gilmour. This marked the second consecutive week a Chelsea player was sent off, following Reece James’s dismissal against Newcastle United. Gallagher’s suspension for the upcoming match against Manchester United compounded the challenge.

Gallagher’s absence is a setback for Chelsea, considering his impressive form this season. Moreover, the team’s overall disciplinary record is alarming, with nearly 50 bookings, making them the highest in the Premier League. Pochettino must address these disciplinary issues to ensure a more stable and consistent performance from his squad.

While the victory against Brighton showcased the individual brilliance of players like Fernandez, Colwill, and Mudryk, Pochettino faces the task of instilling better discipline within the team.

The concerns regarding consecutive red cards and a high number of bookings demand attention to maintain Chelsea’s competitive edge in the Premier League.

As they prepare for the upcoming clash with Manchester United, Pochettino must strategize not only in terms of tactics on the field but also in managing the team’s behavior to avoid unnecessary setbacks.
