Just In:Manchester United is resolute in pursuing the coveted acquisition of a star earning £305,000 per week.

During the recent summer transfer window, Manchester United opted for Andre Onana over their initial preference, Jan Oblak, with the aim of reinforcing their goalkeeper ranks.

Since departing from Inter Milan, the Cameroonian international has displayed inconsistent performances for the Red Devils, despite his earlier career success at Inter Milan. Reports now suggest that United is revisiting the pursuit of Oblak, citing inside sources.

There is speculation that Julen Agirrezabala from Athletic Bilbao is being eyed as the successor to the 30-year-old goalkeeper at the Wanda Metropolitano.

Jan Oblak, the former Benfica star, currently holds the position of the highest-paid player at Atletico Madrid, earning a weekly wage exceeding £305,000. His existing contract with the Spanish club is slated to conclude in the summer of 2028, making him one of the highest earners within the team.

Widely recognized as one of the premier goalkeepers globally, Oblak has participated in 310 La Liga matches, boasting an impressive 49% clean sheet record, which stands as a league record.

Having dedicated over a decade to Atletico Madrid, signs suggest that Jan Oblak might be contemplating a new challenge, hinting at a potential transition.

Manchester United, in their quest to fortify their goalkeeper position, recognizes the need for a world-class talent. The decision to replace David De Gea with Andre Onana did not yield the expected results.

Given this scenario, a crucial question emerges: Should Manchester United be willing to make a substantial investment to secure the services of Jan Oblak?
