Despite the midfielder’s interest in joining the London club, financial limitations are cited as a factor that prevents Arsenal from aggressively pursuing his signature.
Everton is reportedly seeking a transfer fee of at least €70 million to part ways with the former Lille star. The report suggests that Arsenal is unlikely to afford Onana on a permanent deal, highlighting the financial challenges the club is currently facing.
Onana has made a name for himself as one of the Premier League’s standout defensive midfielders. In the current season, he boasts impressive statistics, winning 2.6 tackles and 7.1 duels per appearance, along with 6.6 ball recoveries. His aerial prowess is evident, winning 70% of his aerial challenges and 50% of his takeovers.
The potential addition of Onana to Arsenal’s midfield is seen as an excellent match for Declan Rice.
