INEOS director of sport Sir Dave Brailsford, who will be a part of the INEOS board overseeing Manchester United once Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s takeover is finalized, dismissed a request from a Manchester United fan regarding the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe.
Recent reports revealed that Mbappe had informed Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi of his intention to leave the club when his contract expires this summer, sparking interest from top clubs across Europe for what could be one of the biggest free transfers in football history.
During a chance encounter with a young fan, Brailsford was asked if there were any plans to pursue Mbappe for Manchester United.
Brailsford responded with a laugh, indicating that Mbappe’s desire appears to be a move to Real Madrid.
While Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with potential moves for Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window, it is widely believed that Real Madrid are the frontrunners to secure his signature.
Having entered the final six months of his contract with PSG, Mbappe has been free to negotiate with other clubs since January 1st.
