Jude Bellingham faces the possibility of a substantial football ban following allegations of making a derogatory remark towards Mason Greenwood, a situation that could have significant ramifications for Real Madrid’s season.

A recent report has brought to light a potentially significant development involving Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham, who could face a substantial suspension if found guilty of allegedly using derogatory language towards Mason Greenwood.

After Real Madrid secured a 2-0 victory over Getafe earlier this month, Getafe lodged a complaint with La Liga, alleging an altercation between the two players during the match.

Following standard protocol, La Liga included Getafe’s complaint in its weekly report to the RFEF (Spanish FA), highlighting incidents warranting further investigation.

According to a report from La Liga, as cited by ESPN, it stated: “Following the match, social media posts emerged alleging an incident where visiting player Jude Bellingham allegedly insulted local player Mason Greenwood in English. Several media outlets have reported on the incident, as indicated in the attached report.”

Although video footage of the purported incident circulated on social media during and after the match, it lacked accompanying audio. Consequently, the RFEF has reportedly appointed a judge to conduct an inquiry into the complaint, with a decision expected within a fortnight.

Should the judge classify the alleged offense as ‘serious,’ Bellingham could face a suspension of up to four games. However, if deemed a ‘grave’ verbal offense, the penalty could escalate to a significant 10-game ban.

If such a sanction is imposed prior to Real Madrid’s upcoming fixtures, Bellingham could find himself sidelined until May, missing pivotal matches, including the highly anticipated El Clasico clash against Barcelona scheduled for April 21.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid’s involvement in the Champions League could prompt scheduling adjustments, potentially impacting Bellingham’s availability for future matches.

As of now, neither Bellingham, Greenwood, nor their respective clubs have issued a public statement addressing the reported incident.
