The club has announced the successor to Jurgen Klopp this morning following a surprising announcement.

Sporting CP manager Ruben Amorim has raised speculation regarding his future by admitting that, unlike Xabi Alonso, he cannot guarantee staying with the club beyond this summer.

Liverpool had expressed interest in Alonso, but he ultimately decided to remain with Bayer Leverkusen, dealing a blow to both Liverpool and Bayern Munich.

Amorim has now emerged as a potential candidate for the Liverpool managerial position, and his remarks have added fuel to the speculation by declining to rule out a departure from Sporting.

When asked if he could assure staying with Sporting, Amorim responded straightforwardly, stating, “No, I cannot guarantee it.” He emphasized that Sporting is already planning for the future, and his decision ultimately lies beyond his control.

Amorim stressed the importance of winning titles, indicating that if Sporting fails to achieve this, he would consider leaving. He reiterated his commitment to his initial pledge to the players, emphasizing the necessity of securing titles.

Regarding his contract with Sporting, Amorim acknowledged the existence of a release clause, speculated to be between £10m and £15m.

If Liverpool or any other club triggers this clause, Sporting would be unable to prevent Amorim from departing.

When questioned about potentially rejecting offers from clubs triggering his release clause, Amorim remained non-committal, preferring to focus on the upcoming matches.

He expressed gratitude to Sporting for the opportunities provided but refrained from discussing his future plans.

Amidst the speculation surrounding his future, Amorim emphasized his dedication to Sporting and insisted that he would not pressure the club to facilitate his departure.

Overall, Amorim’s remarks have added uncertainty to his future at Sporting CP, with Liverpool and other clubs monitoring the situation closely as they consider their managerial options for the upcoming season.
