The 16-year-old forward, who has achieved numerous records since his debut in senior football, is following a trajectory akin to that of Messi, who has won the Ballon d’Or eight times.
Emerging from the renowned La Masia academy, he is widely touted to ascend to the pinnacle of the sport.
Yamal currently wears the No.27 jersey at Barcelona, but he has expressed his willingness to inherit the iconic No. 10 shirt from Ansu Fati, who is currently on loan at Brighton in the Premier League.
He stated, “As you said, Ansu is the number 10, but if he is not here anymore, it would be an honor. It would be a dream for any kid to wear Barcelona’s number 10 jersey. No one would refuse that opportunity, but it’s ultimately up to the club to decide.”
Following Messi’s dietary regimen at Barcelona, Yamal has been advised to incorporate more fish into his diet, a strategy that proved beneficial for Messi in the past.
Yamal mentioned, “I’ve gained about four kilograms and two centimeters in height in 2024. I now stand at 1.81 meters tall. Previously, I used to eat whatever I wanted with my friends.
Now, I adhere to the club’s dietary recommendations. I also drink plenty of water and try to consume more fish instead of meat.”
Having played 40 games for Barcelona across various competitions this season, scoring six goals, Yamal has also earned six senior caps for Spain as he sets his sights on earning a spot in their squad for the upcoming European Championship.
