Manchester United Starting XI vs Liverpool, team news and injury latest

    adminBy adminApril 7, 2024No Comments2 Mins Read

The upcoming Premier League clash between Manchester United and Liverpool marks the 242nd encounter between the two historic rivals.

Manchester United’s team faces a slew of injury concerns ahead of the showdown. Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans both sustained injuries in their recent match against Chelsea, casting doubt on their availability for Sunday’s game.

Additionally, Victor Lindelof, Luke Shaw, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia are all sidelined due to various injuries. Anthony Martial and backup goalkeeper Altay Bayindir are also nursing injuries, further depleting United’s squad.

As a result, the possible starting XI for Manchester United could include Andre Onana, Aaron Wan–Bissaka, Willy Kambwala, Harry Maguire, Diogo Dalot, Kobbie Mainoo, Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes, Alejandro Garnacho, Marcus Rashford, and Rasmus Hojlund.

On the other hand, Liverpool is also dealing with several injury concerns. Stefan Bajcetic, Alisson, and Trent Alexander–Arnold are not expected to return until next week, potentially ruling them out for the clash against United.

Joel Matip, Thiago Alcantara, and Ben Doak are sidelined with injuries, while Wataru Endo is a doubt after picking up a knock.

Despite sustaining a knee injury in their recent victory over Sheffield United, Ibrahimia Konate is expected to be fit for the match against United. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp confirmed Konate’s availability during his post-match press conference.

The potential starting XI for Liverpool could feature Caoimhin Kelleher, Conor Bradley, Ibrahimia Konate, Virgil Van Dijk, Andy Robertson, Wataru Endo, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Mo Salah, Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez.
