However, it is evident that negotiations have been ongoing for several months without significant progress. Araujo’s current contract with Barcelona runs until 2026, and the club had pledged to enhance his salary at the earliest opportunity.
Nevertheless, if a new agreement cannot be reached, Barcelona may opt to sell him during the upcoming summer transfer window, particularly given their precarious financial situation.
Considering the limited number of valuable assets available for sale or open to leaving Barcelona, a potential deal involving the 24-year-old defender appears increasingly plausible.
