Zinedine Zidane, the former manager of Real Madrid, is on the verge of taking over as the head coach of a Premier League team.

According to recent reports, Zinedine Zidane is reportedly on the verge of a surprising return to football management.

Since departing from Real Madrid in 2021, Zidane has remained without a managerial position.

Despite being linked with several clubs, including Manchester United, Liverpool, and Paris Saint-Germain, Zidane has yet to take charge of another team.

However, that could be set to change as Mundo Deportivo, a Spanish newspaper, suggests that Zidane is close to assuming the managerial role at Bayern Munich, replacing Thomas Tuchel.

Tuchel’s tenure at Bayern has been marred by a disappointing domestic campaign, leading to his impending departure at the end of the season.

Nevertheless, Tuchel could depart on a high note by securing the Champions League title for the second time in his career.

While reports indicate that Zidane and Bayern have not finalized a deal due to unresolved details, the 51-year-old is reportedly seeking assurances in the transfer market.

Interestingly, Zidane’s potential move to Bayern comes as a surprise, especially considering previous speculation linking him with managerial positions at Manchester United and Liverpool.

Speculation surrounding Zidane’s future has intensified in recent months, with former teammate Emmanuel Petit suggesting that he has been learning English.

Additionally, rumors have circulated about a possible managerial role at Liverpool, potentially succeeding Jurgen Klopp.

Bayern’s interest in Zidane comes amidst their pursuit of Julian Nagelsmann, who is currently coaching the Germany national team.

However, Nagelsmann’s commitment to Germany until the 2026 World Cup ruled out any potential return to Bayern, despite previous ties to the club.

Furthermore, Bayern had considered hiring former player Xabi Alonso, but Alonso publicly announced his intention to remain with Bayer Leverkusen, where he led them to their first Bundesliga title.
