According to Fabrizio Romano, three Liverpool players have officially announced their departure from the club at the conclusion of the current season.

Liverpool is set to bid farewell to three key players as their contracts come to an end this season, according to reports from Football Insider.

Adrian, Joel Matip, and Thiago Alcantara are among those whose contracts will not be renewed by the Premier League giants, as they are deemed surplus to the club’s future plans.

Adrian, currently serving as the team’s third-choice goalkeeper behind Alisson and Caoimhin Kelleher, will be among those departing.

Meanwhile, Matip, a beloved figure among Liverpool fans, has been sidelined since before Christmas due to a serious knee injury.

Thiago, considered the most talented of the trio, has struggled with injuries, limiting his playing time to just five minutes this season.

With the imminent departure of these three players, the next Liverpool manager will not have them in their plans, and further decisions regarding player departures will likely be put on hold until a new coach is appointed.

Among the departing players, Joel Matip’s exit is expected to evoke the most emotional response from Liverpool supporters.

The defender suffered a severe ACL injury in December, and it appears that his last appearance at Anfield marked the end of his tenure with the club.

Matip’s journey with Liverpool began in 2016, and he quickly established himself as one of Jurgen Klopp’s most astute signings, particularly considering he arrived on a free transfer.

At 32 years old, Matip would have faced stiff competition for playing time at Liverpool next season, especially with the emergence of young talents in his position and the indispensable presence of Virgil van Dijk in the squad.

Furthermore, Liverpool is anticipated to bolster their defensive options this summer, with the incoming center-back likely to serve as Matip’s replacement and fill the void left by the departing fan favorite.
