According to insider information, Manchester United has reportedly initiated discussions with Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel as they explore potential successors for current manager Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford.

Speculation surrounding ten Hag’s future has intensified amid a challenging season for the Red Devils. Despite his contract with United running until 2025, there is growing anticipation of managerial changes at the club come summer.

Georg Holzner of Kicker suggests that United has engaged in talks with Tuchel, potentially offering him an exit route from the Bundesliga. Tuchel, who joined Bayern in March 2023, is rumored to be departing at the end of the current season.

Reports indicate that Sir Jim Ratcliffe, a co-owner of United, is keen on securing Tuchel’s services as part of a restructuring plan for the 2024-2025 campaign.

The 50-year-old boasts an impressive track record, having clinched two Ligue 1 titles, a Bundesliga title, and a Champions League trophy.

Despite Bayern’s recent progress to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals after defeating Arsenal, they relinquished the Bundesliga title to Bayer Leverkusen, who secured the championship with a game to spare.

Following a narrow victory over Coventry City to reach the FA Cup final at Wembley, ten Hag faced further scrutiny. Despite the criticism, he praised his team’s resilience in securing a spot in the final.

In the semi-final match on Sunday, Manchester United surged to a 3-0 lead before the hour mark, only for the Championship side to mount a comeback, forcing extra time and eventually losing on penaltiesx.

With the FA Cup representing United’s last chance for silverware this season, they face a daunting task ahead as they aim to overcome defending champions Manchester City in the final.
