Liverpool has designated a 22-year-old goal-scoring sensation from Benfica as the successor to Darwin Nunez.

Amidst uncertainties surrounding the future of Darwin Nunez at Liverpool, the club is reportedly devising plans to strengthen its attacking lineup.

Speculation suggests that Nunez could be on the verge of departing, with Barcelona emerging as a potential destination.

His recent actions, such as removing Liverpool-related content from his social media amid fan criticism, add complexity to the situation.

In anticipation of Nunez’s potential exit this summer, Liverpool is already formulating a backup strategy.

According to reports from L’Equipe, the Premier League side is considering a move for Mohamed Amoura, a forward from Union Saint-Gilloise.

With Jurgen Klopp expected to depart and Arne Slot likely to take over at Anfield, there is anticipation for a change in tactics and priorities.

Given Nunez’s struggles following his high-profile transfer from Benfica, the new manager may not prioritize retaining the Uruguayan striker.

Amoura’s performance against Liverpool in the Europa League this season, where he scored in Union Saint-Gilloise’s 2-1 victory, has piqued the Reds’ interest.

Brighton & Hove Albion is also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old striker, valued at €20 million (£17 million).

Having scored 23 goals in 44 appearances across all competitions this season for Union Saint-Gilloise, Amoura presents a dependable goal-scoring option.

Liverpool’s offensive challenges in both the Premier League and Europa League highlight the need for additional attacking prowess, particularly with both Nunez and Mohamed Salah experiencing inconsistent form when it matters most.
