Despite expressing his desire to continue with Roma until the end of his contract in the summer, sources indicate that Mourinho currently lacks concrete plans. The decision to terminate his tenure at Roma was heavily influenced by the club’s situation.
While rumors suggest Mourinho’s potential return to the Premier League with Newcastle United or Chelsea, nothing has been confirmed at this point. Reports from 90min suggest that such moves would be surprising, and there is no official agreement in place.
Chelsea’s owners, despite the team’s underwhelming performance, intend to give current head coach Mauricio Pochettino more time before making any decisions.
However, pressure is mounting on Pochettino, especially after criticism from supporters and the risk of an upset against Championship side Middlesbrough in the Carabao Cup semifinals.
Similarly, Newcastle remains supportive of manager Eddie Howe, who faces challenges due to a lengthy injury list this season.
Mourinho has also expressed interest in managing in Saudi Arabia, with reports suggesting that he could receive offers from the Saudi Pro League if he remains unemployed by summer.
