According to reports today, Lautaro Martínez and FC Barcelona may reach an agreement for him to join Barcelona if he does not extend his contract with Inter Milan this summer.

Martinez is currently in his sixth season with Inter Milan and remains committed to the club until 2026. His outstanding performances for the Serie A giants have generated significant interest from major clubs such as Real Madrid and Chelsea over the summer, with additional interest reportedly coming from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

At 26 years old, Martinez has started the current campaign in spectacular form for Inter. He has already netted six goals in seven matches spanning both Serie A and the Champions League.

These impressive statistics are expected to attract further offers from top European clubs and those in Saudi Arabia as well.

Despite the heightened interest and potential lucrative offers, Martinez’s agent, Alejandro Camano, has made it clear that the striker is committed to staying with Inter Milan.

Camano emphasized that Martinez rejected all offers during the summer transfer window and intends to continue doing so in order to remain at San Siro.

“Lautaro doesn’t want to hear anything other than Inter,” Camano told TV Play. “The Saudi market is full of temptations and has made many proposals, but not only from there.

When I tell him about these possibilities, he tells me: ‘Inter ale, Inter.’ The sense of belonging is important, and he has it in abundance here. To the project, to the team, Lautaro didn’t listen to anything other than Inter.”

Camano further elaborated on Martinez’s mindset, explaining, “This summer, the whole world talked about a possible transfer to another team, but the reality is that he decided to stay because he likes peace of mind and considers his team to be Inter.

He is happy, he is the captain of the team, and he is also expecting a child. We have to work so that he is always happy. I think renewal is a possibility. We talked about it with both Inter and Lautaro. He rejected many options because he wants to stay at Inter.”

Martinez’s loyalty to Inter is underscored by his contentment with the club and his role as team captain.

This commitment is likely to be further solidified by his personal life, with his agent noting that Martinez is expecting a child and prefers the stability and peace of mind he finds at Inter Milan. The discussions about a possible contract renewal reflect this mutual desire for a long-term association.

As Inter prepares for their upcoming matches, Martinez’s focus remains on his current club. He is expected to be a key player when Inter visits Salernitana in Serie A on Saturday.

Following this league fixture, Inter will face Benfica in the Champions League on Tuesday, where Martinez’s contributions will once again be crucial.
