Just two days after being sacked, Mauricio Pochettino has secured a new job with a rival club in England.

Former Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has expressed a strong desire to remain in the Premier League, with rumors suggesting he is keen on potentially landing the Manchester United post in the future.

Following an end-of-season evaluation, Chelsea announced on Tuesday night that they had mutually agreed to part ways with Pochettino. During his single season in charge, the 52-year-old faced difficulties integrating numerous new players, resulting in the team finishing mid-table.

Despite these challenges, Chelsea reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup and the final of the Carabao Cup, providing some momentum for their Premier League campaign. Although they suffered a heavy 5-0 defeat to Arsenal, they only lost once in their last ten league games, winning seven of them.

If Manchester United loses the FA Cup final on Saturday, Chelsea will finish the season above United in sixth place, securing a spot in the Europa League for the next season. With the FA Cup final approaching, speculation about Pochettino’s future role is intensifying.

The Times reports that Pochettino is interested in discussing the Manchester United position if Erik ten Hag is dismissed this summer. Sir Jim Ratcliffe has not yet made a decision regarding Ten Hag’s future, placing significant importance on the outcome of the FA Cup final this weekend.

Pochettino’s potential connection to the United job is not surprising, especially since he publicly stated just two weeks ago that he wishes to continue his career in England for as long as possible.

On Instagram, he shared his pride in reaching 400 games in English football, calling it one of the best decisions of his life and expressing his desire to increase that number.

Pochettino’s interest in the Manchester United job positions him as one of the frontrunners, especially considering Ten Hag’s appointment in 2022 and the ongoing uncertainty about his future.
