Pep Guardiola has unequivocally dismissed the notion of joining Manchester United once his contract with Manchester City expires, despite previously expressing interest in the managerial role there.

The esteemed Spanish manager, who made the transition to Manchester City from Bayern Munich eight years ago, has accumulated an impressive array of titles during his tenure, including six Premier League crowns, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and a coveted Champions League trophy.

With his contract set to conclude at the conclusion of the 2024–2025 season, reports suggest that Guardiola intends to depart from the Etihad Stadium at that juncture.

Prior to his appointment at Manchester City, Guardiola had openly discussed the prospect of managing at Old Trafford. This inclination surfaced following a conversation with legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, wherein they deliberated on the team’s future.

In his book *Pep Confidential*, journalist Marti Perarnau, a close confidant of Guardiola’s, chronicled the manager’s admiration for the environment at Manchester United. Guardiola was quoted as saying, “I appreciate this environment. One day I could see myself serving as a coach here.”

Despite being impressed by the training facilities at Bayern Munich, Guardiola harbored a particular fondness for the setup at Sabener Strasse. Similarly, he was captivated by the ambiance at Old Trafford, where he and his assistant, Manuel Estiarte, attended a match between Manchester United and Schalke on May 4, 2011, following a resounding Champions League semifinal victory against Real Madrid.

During this visit, Guardiola reiterated his interest in potentially coaching at Manchester United, echoing sentiments he had previously expressed.

However, despite these previous musings, Guardiola has now firmly distanced himself from any potential move to Old Trafford, signaling his commitment to Manchester City until the conclusion of his current contract.
