Following Manchester United’s disheartening 3-0 defeat to Liverpool on Sunday, fans have turned their ire towards two players, calling for their permanent removal from the squad.

United’s loss came after a disappointing last-minute defeat to Brighton the previous week, marking a further blow to their aspirations.

The team, already grappling with persistent issues under Erik ten Hag, was thoroughly outclassed by Liverpool during Arne Slot’s first visit to Old Trafford.

Liverpool’s Luis Diaz scored twice in the first half, exploiting Manchester United’s defensive frailties. Mohamed Salah added a third goal in the second half, further highlighting United’s struggles. Despite the summer’s high-profile signings and improvements, United’s issues seem unresolved, causing growing frustration among supporters.

Midfielder Casemiro, who was responsible for errors leading to Liverpool’s first two goals, has come under heavy criticism. His performance was marked by a series of mistakes, and he was substituted at halftime for 20-year-old Toby Collyer. Many fans believe new signing Manuel Ugarte is likely to replace Casemiro permanently. The discontent with Casemiro was palpable, with some fans expressing their frustration on social media, calling it one of his worst performances ever and even suggesting he should retire.

Marcus Rashford also faced significant backlash. The once-remarkable forward, who netted 30 goals in Ten Hag’s debut season, struggled to make an impact against Liverpool. His performance, described as lackluster and uninspired, drew criticism from fans and pundits alike.

Rashford’s poor display included a backward pass when he was in a promising position, leading to boos from the crowd when he was substituted in the second half.

The fans’ frustration was evident as they expressed their disapproval loudly, especially when Amad Diallo replaced Alejandro Garnacho, a move that did not sit well with many supporters. The overall sentiment is one of disillusionment, with many calling for immediate changes with in the squad.
