Another fan lamented the absence of a clear game plan, expressing frustration that talented players seemed to regress under ten Hag’s management. Some pointed out the disorganization on the pitch, questioning whether the Dutch coach could realistically turn things around at Old Trafford.
The game also drew harsh criticism from football pundit Gary Neville, who described United’s first-half performance as one of the worst displays he had seen under ten Hag’s reign.
Neville singled out Fernandes for his reckless red card and Marcus Rashford for his poor first touch, which contributed to Tottenham’s opening goal. Neville’s assessment added to the growing calls for change, as the pressure on ten Hag continues to mount following another disappointing performance.
