Chelsea Legend Drobga says 6/10 Chelsea star must be dropped immediately to the bench after average performance.

Chelsea are reportedly considering parting ways with Carney Chukwuemeka during the upcoming January transfer window. However, the Blues are facing a significant challenge in finding a suitable destination for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Chukwuemeka joined Chelsea in 2022 as part of a £20 million transfer from Aston Villa, with high expectations surrounding his potential at Stamford Bridge.

Despite the initial optimism, his move has not yielded the desired results. This season, the midfielder has struggled for game time and appears to be out of favor under manager Enzo Maresca.

Chukwuemeka has only managed 130 minutes across five appearances in all competitions and has yet to feature in a Premier League matchday squad this campaign.

Chelsea are now exploring options to facilitate Chukwuemeka’s departure in January, with the possibility of a loan deal being seriously considered. While there is interest in the young talent, securing a move may not be straightforward.

According to former Premier League scout Mick Brown, several clubs, both in England and abroad, are monitoring the player’s situation.

However, concerns have been raised by English clubs regarding his lack of experience at the top level, which could hinder his ability to make an immediate impact.

Brown, speaking to Football Insider, highlighted the hesitancy among Premier League clubs. He explained, “There is definitely interest in January.

But I’m told there are doubts among Premier League sides about whether he could make a significant impact given his lack of experience at the top level. That’s the thing with a loan move, which this would likely be in January—clubs want immediate impact.”

He further suggested that a move to a European club might be more suitable for Chukwuemeka, given the differing expectations and opportunities abroad. One notable club keeping tabs on the young midfielder is AC Milan, who are reportedly interested in a potential deal.

As Chelsea evaluate their options for the January window, the challenge remains to find the right environment for Chukwuemeka to develop and rediscover his form.

Whether the midfielder stays in England or moves to a European side, it’s clear that Chelsea are eager to resolve his situation as they continue to reshape their squad for the future.
