Liverpool’s interest in Napoli’s dynamic winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has grown significantly, with reports indicating that the club is exploring an ambitious swap deal to secure the services of the Georgian star.
According to renowned journalist David Ornstein of The Athletic, while Liverpool has not aggressively pursued Kvaratskhelia in the past, the club could act swiftly if the player becomes available on the transfer market.
In line with this, Rousing The Kop now reports that Liverpool is formulating a bold plan to bring the 23-year-old attacker to Anfield.
The report suggests that Liverpool views Kvaratskhelia as a potential long-term replacement for Mohamed Salah, whose future at the club remains uncertain. Salah’s current contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and with no renewal agreement in place, the Reds are proactively exploring contingency plans.
Kvaratskhelia’s attributes—versatility, creativity, and a keen eye for goal—make him an ideal candidate to fill the void that Salah could leave behind. Liverpool is reportedly considering a swap deal that would include one of their high-profile players, such as Darwin Núñez or Federico Chiesa, to make the offer more enticing for Napoli.
Federico Chiesa, in particular, could be a crucial element in the negotiation. Already linked with a potential move to Napoli, his inclusion in the deal might align with the Italian champions’ interests, making Liverpool’s proposal more attractive.
This strategy reflects Liverpool’s determination to secure one of Europe’s brightest young talents, despite facing stiff competition from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
PSG is currently seen as the frontrunner for Kvaratskhelia’s signature. However, Liverpool’s proposed swap deal could provide Napoli with ready-made attacking options, potentially giving the Reds an edge in the race for the Georgian international.
Since joining Napoli from Rubin Kazan, Kvaratskhelia has cemented his reputation as one of Europe’s premier attackers. In 107 appearances for the Italian side, he has contributed 30 goals and 29 assists across all competitions.
His performances this season have been equally impressive, with five goals and three assists in 19 matches, bringing his career totals to 52 goals and 53 assists.
Although Kvaratskhelia is under contract with Napoli until 2027, the absence of renewal discussions has piqued the interest of several top European clubs.
While PSG remains a strong contender, Liverpool’s innovative approach and potential player swap could prove decisive in securing the Georgian star for their future plans.
