Mykhailo Mudryk, the Ukrainian international, has not played for Chelsea since November 28, following his provisional suspension from competitive football.
His future at Stamford Bridge remains uncertain, but multiple European clubs are closely monitoring his situation. While Chelsea awaits the results of his ‘B’ sample, there is significant interest from other teams should he be cleared of any wrongdoing.
Manchester United has been strongly linked with a potential €50 million move for the 24-year-old winger. However, according to reports from the Spanish outlet Sport, Sevilla has now emerged as another contender.
The La Liga side is reportedly interested in securing Mudryk’s services, but only if his suspension is lifted and he is deemed innocent. Sevilla’s interest in Mudryk appears to follow a strategy similar to that of their city rivals, Real Betis, who successfully signed Manchester United’s out-of-favor winger Antony on loan in January. Since then, the Brazilian has made a positive impact at the club, and Sevilla hopes to achieve similar results with Mudryk.
Beyond Sevilla and Manchester United, Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen are also keeping tabs on Mudryk’s situation. Xabi Alonso’s side previously came close to signing the Ukrainian back in 2022 before he ultimately joined Chelsea.
With Leverkusen’s continued ambition to strengthen their squad, they could reignite their interest in bringing him to Germany.
Chelsea remains hopeful that Mudryk’s ‘B’ sample will return a negative result, clearing him of any wrongdoing. However, if the second test confirms the initial findings, he could face a lengthy four-year ban from football, which would be a major blow to his career.
Even if he is cleared to play, his long-term future at Stamford Bridge remains in question. Since his high-profile €70 million transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk in January 2023, Mudryk has struggled to meet expectations. In his 73 appearances for Chelsea, he has managed just 10 goals, falling short of the impact the club had hoped for when signing him.
Additionally, Mudryk faces stiff competition for a place in Chelsea’s squad. With Jadon Sancho expected to make his loan move permanent, along with the presence of players like Pedro Neto, Noni Madueke, Estevao Willian, and young talent Tyrique George, breaking into the starting lineup could be an uphill battle. If he remains at Chelsea, he may find himself on the fringes rather than a key player in the team’s plans.
