Speaking on his Rio Ferdinand Presents YouTube show, the former England defender dismissed the notion that United’s improved form could be credited to just one player. “It’s not down to a single man,” Ferdinand stated. “De Ligt has been immense probably our most consistent defender this season.
He’s even chipped in with goals, like that last-minute header the other week. But what stands out most is his mentality, aggression, and leadership. Those qualities have lifted everyone around him.”
Since his move from Bayern Munich, De Ligt has rediscovered the dominant form that once made him one of Europe’s most coveted defenders. Under Amorim’s guidance, the Dutchman has developed into a reliable, commanding presence at the back.
