Heartbreaking news has just been confirmed for Jeremie Frimpong this evening

Liverpool’s current injury crisis has taken yet another dramatic turn in the aftermath of Sunday’s disappointing defeat to Manchester City.

The situation, already worrying for supporters, has now been further clarified thanks to an extensive update from Lewis Steele of Mail Sport, who shed light on the condition of several key players.

His report included new details regarding Stefan Bajcetic, Jayden Danns, Alisson Becker, and Jeremie Frimpong, and while some of the information brings relief, other parts offer little comfort as the club heads into the international break.

Starting with the more positive side of things, Steele noted encouraging signs around Stefan Bajcetic. For many Liverpool fans, the young Spaniard’s talent was clear long before injuries stalled his rapid rise. Seeing progress in his rehabilitation gives supporters hope that he may soon return to competitive action.

His composure, technical ability, and intelligence were missed in midfield, and any development towards a comeback is a boost for a team struggling to find rhythm.

Unfortunately, the update on Jeremie Frimpong painted a far more concerning picture. The Dutch wing-back, who only recently arrived at Anfield, is reportedly expected to be out for a considerably longer period. Steele emphasised that “patience is needed with that one,” noting that his earlier report mentioned a minimum of six weeks on the sidelines.

This is an additional setback for a player still trying to adapt to life in Liverpool. Frimpong was seen as a major part of the club’s new approach following the summer transfer window, but injuries have severely disrupted his early momentum.

The timing of this news is even more frustrating given recent comments from Robbie Fowler, who questioned whether the club’s summer recruitment had ultimately made the team “worse, not better.” Losing a player as dynamic as Frimpong only adds weight to those concerns, especially when Liverpool desperately need depth during a period filled with tough fixtures.

As for Jayden Danns, Steele described the situation as mixed. Though the young forward is maintaining a positive attitude, the seriousness of the injury is becoming clearer.

Describing the problem as “nasty,” Steele admitted he currently has no clear timeline for the 18-year-old’s recovery. This uncertainty will upset supporters who saw in Danns a bright future, especially after Wales manager Rob Page once predicted he could become “the next England No.9” in the years ahead.

On a brighter note, Alisson Becker’s situation appears far more hopeful. The Brazilian goalkeeper is reportedly pushing to return in time for Liverpool’s next Premier League match against Nottingham Forest. Given how much Liverpool struggled defensively in his absence—especially in the 3–0 defeat to Manchester City—his potential return could be crucial.

After suffering five defeats in their last six league encounters, Liverpool desperately needed the international break. It arrives at a time when the squad must regroup, recover, and rebuild confidence. With several key players working their way back, the next few weeks could determine how the remainder of their season unfolds.
