Former Premier League referee Mark Clattenburg has issued a strong warning regarding Manchester United’s growing frustration with officiating decisions, suggesting that the club’s decision to formally question refereeing standards could create serious challenges for both the Premier League and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL).
Reports indicate that Manchester United are pushing for direct talks with PGMOL chief Howard Webb after a sequence of controversial refereeing calls this season.
From the club’s perspective, these decisions have had a tangible impact on match outcomes and, by extension, their position in the league table.
With the Premier League standings extremely congested, United believe that even marginal refereeing errors can carry major consequences.
Clattenburg, speaking exclusively to United In Focus, emphasized that a complaint of this magnitude from one of England’s biggest clubs carries significant weight.
