Bruno Fernandes finally speaks out after Ruben Amorim’s exit

BREAKING: Bruno Fernandes Urges Former United Star to Return After Amorim Exit

Manchester United have been thrown into fresh controversy following emotional revelations from captain Bruno Fernandes in the aftermath of Ruben Amorim’s dismissal.

According to reports, Fernandes has personally appealed to a former United player who left during Amorim’s reign, admitting that the manager’s treatment of the player was deeply unfair and contributed to his departure from Old Trafford.

Speaking with rare honesty, Fernandes is said to have acknowledged that, as captain, he was fully aware of how badly the player was handled before leaving the club.

However, he explained that at the time he felt unable to speak out, fearing the potential consequences for the dressing room and the team as a whole.

Now that Amorim is no longer in charge, Fernandes has reportedly made his position clear: the squad wants the player to return, believing his exit was unjust and damaging to the club.

The situation has gained further attention after former United midfielder Owen Hargreaves publicly encouraged Marcus Rashford to consider a return to Manchester United following Amorim’s “surprising” sacking.

Rashford, who is currently away from Old Trafford after a turbulent period under Amorim, has been heavily linked with a potential comeback if the club undergoes another reset.

Amorim was relieved of his duties on Monday after a run of disappointing performances on the pitch, combined with increasing tension behind the scenes.

Although the Portuguese coach had recently criticised the club’s hierarchy, his dismissal still caught many observers off guard.

Hargreaves admitted he was shocked by the timing of United’s decision, especially given that the team remained within reach of a top-four or top-five finish.

“I was surprised, and I think most people were,” Hargreaves told TNT Sports. “United weren’t playing brilliantly, but they were still in a position where qualifying for the Champions League was realistic.”

Hargreaves suggested that external factors may have influenced United’s thinking, pointing to Chelsea’s recent decision to part ways with Enzo Maresca.

He believes that move may have triggered a domino effect across elite clubs, accelerating managerial changes elsewhere.

“The timing feels strange, but at big clubs, situations can escalate quickly,” he explained.

“We’ve seen something similar at Chelsea, where there seemed to be too many voices involved in decision-making. When everyone has an opinion, it’s hard for them all to align.”

Drawing parallels between the two clubs, Hargreaves hinted that Amorim may have struggled with communication at United—not because he lacked it, but because he perhaps shared too much.

While praising Amorim’s intelligence and character, Hargreaves acknowledged that managing Manchester United presents a unique level of pressure, expectation, and scrutiny compared to other leagues.

“I genuinely feel sorry for him,” Hargreaves added.

“He’s a top manager, a great communicator, and a gentleman. He had massive success in Portugal, which is why expectations were so high. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out the way he hoped.”

Hargreaves remains confident Amorim will succeed elsewhere, even if his United tenure ended prematurely. Amorim now becomes the sixth permanent Manchester United manager to be sacked since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013, underlining the ongoing instability at the club.

As United once again search for direction, Fernandes’ plea and Rashford’s uncertain future highlight a growing belief within the squad that past mistakes must be acknowledged—and corrected—if the club is to move forward.
