Manchester United F.C. have received a huge lift ahead of the run-in, as a key player has officially returned from injury and is ready to make an immediate impact

Manchester United got back to winning ways in convincing fashion, securing a solid 3-1 victory at home against Aston Villa.

It was a confident and controlled performance from start to finish, with Casemiro, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Šeško all finding the back of the net.

Meanwhile, Bruno Fernandes once again proved why he remains such a crucial figure for the team, delivering an outstanding performance and influencing the game in multiple areas across the pitch.

The timing of this victory could not have been better for United. Under the guidance of Michael Carrick, the team has strengthened its position in the race for Champions League qualification.

They now sit three points clear of Aston Villa, while also benefiting from favorable results elsewhere.

With both Chelsea and Liverpool dropping points over the same weekend, United have managed to extend their cushion to six points ahead of Chelsea and five ahead of Liverpool.

This combination of results made it an especially successful and productive weekend for the club as they continue to push for a top-four finish.

However, despite the positive outcome, there was a slight concern late in the match. Bryan Mbeumo was taken off in the 75th minute, and there were signs that he might have picked up a minor issue.

During commentary, Gary Neville observed that Mbeumo appeared to be limping as he left the field and even gestured toward a teammate, possibly indicating discomfort. That said, Carrick did not address the situation in detail after the match.

Considering that Mbeumo did not have a particularly strong impact during the game, there is also a possibility that the substitution was tactical or performance-based rather than due to injury.

For now, his expected return has been tentatively set for the upcoming away fixture against Bournemouth on March 20.

There was also encouraging news on the injury front. Mason Mount returned to the matchday squad after spending around six weeks on the sidelines.

Although he did not feature in the game and remained on the bench, his presence alone signals progress in his recovery.

Carrick had earlier mentioned that while Mount is still working toward full match fitness, his return to training with the group is a significant and positive step forward.

Meanwhile, a few players are still unavailable due to injuries. Lisandro Martínez has now missed four matches in a row after suffering a setback in training, which has delayed his return.

He is now being targeted to make a comeback in the home fixture against Leeds United on April 13.

Matthijs de Ligt has also been out for an extended period, dealing with a persistent back issue that has kept him sidelined for nearly four months.

While there are signs of improvement, Carrick has refrained from giving a precise return date, though the same Leeds match has been suggested as a possible target.

Additionally, Patrick Dorgu, who sustained a hamstring injury during the win over Arsenal several weeks ago, is expected to be back in contention around mid-April.

Overall, it was a strong and encouraging outing for Manchester United, combining an impressive performance on the pitch with positive developments off it, even as they continue to manage a few lingering injury concerns within the squad.
