Fresh reports have once again suggested that Pep Guardiola could be preparing to leave Manchester City at the end of the current season, despite still having time left on his contract.
The Spaniard signed a two-year extension back in November 2024, a deal that ties him to the Etihad Stadium until the conclusion of the 2026/27 campaign.
However, uncertainty has grown in recent months regarding whether he will actually see out that agreement. According to various sources, Guardiola is considering using the March international break as an opportunity to reflect on his future and decide whether stepping down this summer is the right move.
Several factors have contributed to this speculation. One key development was the departure of long-time colleague Txiki Begiristain, who had worked closely with Guardiola for years. In addition, Manchester City are currently undergoing a transitional phase, with a younger squad being gradually integrated into the team.
On top of that, their position in the Premier League title race has raised questions, as they find themselves trailing Arsenal FC by nine points.

Among supporters, there is also a sense of nostalgia fueling calls for Vincent Kompany to eventually return in a managerial role. The former club captain has built an impressive reputation in coaching, including his recent success with Bayern Munich.
