Real Madrid have reportedly made a decisive call on Ferland Mendy’s future — the French left-back is no longer in their plans for the upcoming season.
According to AS, the club has informed Mendy that he should find a new team this summer as they look to revamp their full-back options.
Los Blancos intend to go forward with Fran García and Álvaro Carreras as their main left-backs for the 2025/26 campaign. With injuries and inconsistent form limiting Mendy’s impact in recent seasons, the club feels it’s time to move in a new direction.
The 29-year-old still has interest from several European sides, and a move could be finalised before the transfer window closes.
This decision is part of Madrid’s broader effort to build a younger, more dynamic squad as they prepare for another title challenge both in Spain and Europe.
