BREAKING REPORT: Manchester United are gearing up to make a blockbuster move as they prepare a formal £105 million bid for Brazilian star Raphinha, currently playing for Barcelona.

The Premier League giants are determined to bring in a world-class attacker as part of their long-term rebuild, and Raphinha has now emerged as their absolute priority for the 2026–27 campaign.

Inside sources at Old Trafford reveal that United’s board and manager Rúben Amorim have placed the 28-year-old winger at the very top of their transfer wish list.

After a major overhaul of their attacking department which saw the departures of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, and Alejandro Garnacho Amorim has been pushing strongly for a dynamic wide player who can add speed, creativity, and goal-scoring threat to his evolving 3-4-2-1 system.

Raphinha, known for his explosive pace and comfort on either flank, is viewed as the perfect fit for the style of play Amorim is trying to implement.

The Brazilian international is currently experiencing the most productive period of his professional career. In the previous season, Raphinha delivered staggering numbers: 34 goals and 22 assists across all competitions.

His contributions were instrumental in Barcelona securing a historic domestic treble.

These achievements also earned him a spot among the top five finalists for the 2025 Ballon d’Or, a remarkable testament to his growing stature in world football.

Even though a minor injury set him back recently, he has already recorded 3 goals and 2 assists in 6 league games this season, underscoring his devastating attacking influence whenever he steps onto the pitch.

Manchester United are reportedly extremely confident and ready to match Barcelona’s valuation. Their planned £105 million offer is expected to put serious pressure on the Spanish club, especially with their ongoing financial concerns.

Although Raphinha is under contract until 2028, several sources claim that Barça would be compelled to consider offers that surpass the £100 million mark. A bid of that size could be enough to trigger internal discussions in Catalonia regarding a potential sale.

On the player’s side, Raphinha has always maintained a strong desire to return to the Premier League, where he first rose to prominence with Leeds United. His energy, flair, and sharp finishing made him a fan favourite during his time in England.

However, one major condition remains: he reportedly wants United to qualify for the Champions League before he agrees to leave Barcelona. For him, competing at the highest European level is non-negotiable.

Manchester United, now under Amorim’s leadership, are undergoing an ambitious squad rebuild. New signings such as Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have brought more attacking quality, but the club still lacks a genuine superstar who can consistently change games.

Raphinha is seen as the ideal player to elevate United back into title contention and restore their reputation across Europe.

If the transfer is completed, he would instantly become one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.

More importantly, it would mark a significant statement of ambition—sending a clear message to both the Premier League and Europe that Manchester United intend to reclaim their place among football’s elite.
