Manchester United are reportedly preparing for yet another high-profile exit, with fresh claims suggesting that midfielder Manuel Ugarte is on the brink of leaving Old Trafford just months after his expensive arrival.
Despite showing signs of improvement in recent weeks, developments from Türkiye indicate that the Uruguayan international’s time in England could be coming to an abrupt end.
Ugarte joined United from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024 in a deal that raised eyebrows across Europe.
The transfer, pushed strongly by senior figures within the club’s recruitment structure, was seen as a statement signing aimed at reinforcing United’s midfield with energy and bite. However, his spell in the Premier League has been anything but smooth.
Adapting to the physical demands and relentless tempo of English football has proven difficult for the 24-year-old.
While flashes of determination and work rate have been evident, his overall performances have often fallen short of expectations.
This struggle was compounded by his complicated relationship with former manager Ruben Amorim, who was dismissed last week.
