Manchester United are reportedly preparing a stunning £105m LaLiga raid as part of their summer rebuild under the guidance of INEOS

Manchester United FC are reportedly gearing up for a decisive summer transfer window, one that could significantly shape the club’s immediate future.

With INEOS now heavily influencing football operations, there is a renewed determination to address past recruitment missteps and assemble a squad capable of competing consistently at the highest level once again.

Strengthening the midfield has emerged as the club’s leading priority, but it is only one piece of a much broader restructuring plan. United are also assessing options at left wing, centre-forward, both full-back positions, and even in goal. The objective is not merely to add numbers but to restore balance and depth across the pitch.

Although there is an internal preference for players already accustomed to the intensity of the Premier League, the recruitment team is open to pursuing elite talent from overseas — particularly from Spain’s top division.

One prominent name under serious consideration is Alejandro Balde of FC Barcelona. The 22-year-old left-back has developed into one of Europe’s most dynamic defenders, combining pace, attacking intent, and defensive maturity. Reports indicate that United’s interest is being driven by recruitment chief Christopher Vivell.

Barcelona reportedly value Balde at upwards of €60 million, reflecting both his importance to the squad and his long-term potential. However, United are believed to be contemplating an initial offer closer to €40 million.

The situation may be complicated by interest from Inter Milan, who are also said to be monitoring the player. Still, Barcelona’s ongoing financial constraints could increase the likelihood of negotiations.

United’s LaLiga focus extends beyond Catalonia. Pape Gueye, currently with Villarreal CF, has also emerged as a potential target.

The Senegal international is reportedly enjoying a standout campaign and has caught United’s attention as they search for a long-term successor to Casemiro, whose influence has diminished due to injuries and advancing age.

Gueye is valued at around €60 million, and United are said to view him as a midfielder capable of injecting physical presence, tactical awareness, and energy into the center of the park.

Interestingly, Gueye once had a brief spell with Watford FC in 2020, but his development since then has been substantial.

At Villarreal, he has matured into a disciplined and commanding presence, adept at disrupting opposition attacks and maintaining midfield structure.

Beyond Spain, INEOS are carefully reviewing additional midfield options. Amadou Onana, now at Aston Villa FC, remains on United’s radar, having impressed the club during his earlier time at Everton.

However, reports suggest that other names may rank higher on the shortlist.

Among them are Elliot Anderson of Nottingham Forest FC, Carlos Baleba, and Adam Wharton. Anderson is believed to be the preferred option, though competition from Manchester City FC could complicate negotiations.

After several windows marked by missed opportunities, United are determined to act decisively yet strategically.

This summer is shaping up to be not just about recruitment, but about redefining the club’s competitive direction for years to come.
