Patrice Evra urges Michael Carrick to recall loan star to Manchester United

Patrice Evra has called on Michael Carrick to reconsider the situation of one Manchester United player currently out on loan, insisting that the club should bring him back ahead of next season rather than letting him slip away.

According to Evra, the player still belongs to Manchester United and deserves another opportunity to prove his worth at Old Trafford.

This appeal comes at a time when United are enjoying a positive run of form. The team remains firmly in contention for a top-four finish in the Premier League, which would secure qualification for the UEFA Champions League next season.

Their recent 1-0 victory over Chelsea highlighted their growing resilience, with Matheus Cunha scoring the decisive goal to seal all three points away from home.

With only a handful of fixtures remaining, Manchester United are in a strong position to finish the campaign on a high note.

Three of their remaining matches will be played at Old Trafford, which further boosts their chances of maintaining momentum.

Their next challenge comes against Brentford, and the extended break before that fixture could allow injured players to return, strengthening the squad for the final stretch.

Carrick has already expressed satisfaction with his team’s recent performances, praising both the players and coaching staff for their adaptability and commitment.

He acknowledged that while there is still room for improvement, the ability to grind out results in difficult matches is something the team can take pride in.

Amid this progress, attention has turned to players currently out on loan—most notably Rasmus Højlund. The striker, who joined United from Atalanta in 2023 for a significant fee, has been enjoying a productive spell in Italy with Napoli.

His performances have reignited discussions about his long-term future, especially as he has contributed goals and assists consistently throughout the season.

There is reportedly an agreement in place that could see Napoli sign Højlund permanently if they qualify for the Champions League. However, former United figures believe the club should intervene before that happens.

Ryan Giggs has also suggested that Højlund deserves another chance, pointing out that the striker may have struggled initially due to the pressure of leading the line alone at such a young age.

Giggs argued that competition within the squad could benefit United, especially if Højlund returns to challenge other attacking options.

He emphasized that the club has historically thrived when multiple hungry forwards push each other in training, raising overall standards.

Meanwhile, Evra also highlighted the impressive form of Matheus Cunha, who has quickly become an important figure in the team.

The Brazilian forward has contributed significantly this season, not just with goals but also with creativity and energy.

His performances have surprised even some former players, with Evra admitting he did not initially expect such a strong impact.

Cunha’s ability to create chances and influence games has made him a fan favorite, and his passion on the pitch has resonated with supporters.

His growing importance adds another layer to United’s attacking options, which could become even more dangerous if players like Højlund are reintegrated into the squad.

Overall, the situation highlights a broader question facing Manchester United: whether to invest in players already within their system or continue looking externally for reinforcements. Evra’s message is clear—sometimes the solution is already at the club.

As the season approaches its conclusion, Carrick and the United hierarchy will have important decisions to make.

Whether they choose to recall Højlund or allow him to move on permanently could have a significant impact on the club’s future attacking structure.

For now, however, the focus remains on finishing the season strongly and securing a return to Europe’s biggest stage.
