The want him to Saudi pro For £150m but he wants to stay at City or play for Premier League Clubs

Manchester City have hit the brakes on contract talks with key player Kevin De Bruyne, a risky move after the 32-year-old rejected proposals linked to Saudi Arabia. De Bruyne expressed a desire to conclude his career at Manchester City, declining offers expected in January and the next summer.

The Belgian midfielder has been a standout performer for City since his transfer from Wolfsburg in 2015 for about £60 million.

Despite initial skepticism following his tenure at Chelsea, De Bruyne’s on-field prowess has earned him five Premier League winners’ medals. Manchester City is keen on extending the 32-year-old’s contract until 2025, but negotiations have been slowed due to his recent hamstring injury.

This has led to a halt in contract renewal talks, which is viewed as a “risky move” considering interest from Saudi Arabia, where De Bruyne was among several players tested by clubs.

He is expected to return and play a vital role in City’s quest for a fourth consecutive Premier League title. Kyle Walker, ahead of the Champions League opener against Red Star Belgrade, revealed De Bruyne is one of the five City captains for the season, succeeding the departed Ilkay Gundogan.

Walker expressed honor and privilege in leading this group of players and aims to set an example on and off the field, ultimately aiming for trophy collections at the season’s end.
