Mason Greenwood has the option to revive his international career with Jamaica after a relatively silent period on the international stage.

Despite his previous connection with England, he has the opportunity to switch allegiances and represent Jamaica in the future.

Recently, Manchester United ended their association with the 21-year-old player, shedding light on Greenwood’s club prospects after facing legal challenges over a year ago.

While he was accused of serious offenses, legal developments eventually led to no convictions, providing a sense of clarity for his professional path.

Several clubs have expressed interest in Greenwood, considering both loan and permanent deals.

Roma, where he could reunite with Jose Mourinho, is one potential destination, along with other clubs across Europe and even interest from the Saudi Pro League.

Although Greenwood had a brief stint with the England senior team, a breach of Covid-19 quarantine rules during his debut led to his expulsion.

Despite discussions to reintegrate him into the England setup, his arrest and subsequent legal issues put an end to those plans.

In light of his situation and family background, Greenwood has the option to represent Jamaica in international football.

The Jamaica Football Federation has expressed interest in his participation since 2021, and Greenwood has been seen wearing the Jamaican team’s attire.

FIFA’s regulations allow players to switch teams if they haven’t played more than three competitive senior international games before turning 21, which opens the door for Greenwood to choose Jamaica as his national team.

As of now, Greenwood has not played a professional game since January 22, 2022, and has not been part of any professional club team practices due to Manchester United’s suspension of operations.

This leaves his international future uncertain, but the possibility of representing Jamaica remains a viable option.
