Arsenal is harboring optimism regarding the potential return of three injured key players, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, and Mohamed Elneny, with a targeted comeback set for the FA Cup third-round clash against Liverpool on January 7.

Despite their current absence from the squad due to injuries, the trio is progressing well in their rehabilitation and is eyeing participation in the upcoming crucial fixture before embarking on international duties.

The sidelined players, Elneny, Partey, and Tomiyasu, are all on the road to recovery from their respective setbacks. Elneny suffered a hamstring injury during the recent encounter with PSV Eindhoven, while Partey has been sidelined since October nursing a thigh injury.

Tomiyasu, on the other hand, succumbed to a calf injury in early December. Although the primary focus is on their return for the Liverpool clash, there is a possibility of an earlier comeback, particularly for Partey, who is nearing full fitness.

Despite not engaging in full training on Wednesday, Partey is displaying eagerness to rejoin the squad, providing a potential boost for Arsenal as they face a challenging series of fixtures. The imminent schedule includes a high-stakes encounter with Liverpool, followed by matches against West Ham and Fulham as the year draws to a close.

Adding an extra layer of complexity to Partey’s situation is his inclusion in Ghana’s provisional 55-man squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

With the final squad of 23 players set to be determined by January 3, Partey remains confident about his readiness for the tournament commencing on January 13. His potential return to action for Arsenal before the FA Cup clash holds significance not only for the club but also for Ghana as they prepare for continental competition.

Simultaneously, Tomiyasu, set to represent Japan at the Asian Cup, is gearing up for his nation’s campaign, which kicks off on January 14 against Vietnam in Qatar. The defender’s recovery progress aligns with the timeline of the Asian Cup, emphasizing the importance of his return to full fitness.

As Arsenal navigates the challenges posed by injuries and a demanding fixture list, the potential return of Tomiyasu, Partey, and Elneny presents a ray of hope. The triumvirate’s determination to contribute before heading off for international duties underscores their commitment to both club and country, injecting a sense of anticipation and optimism into Arsenal’s upcoming campaign.
