Unverified rumors suggest that Sheikh Jassim of Qatar has arrived at Old Trafford to finalize the takeover agreement with Manchester United.

Over recent months, there has been speculation surrounding Qatar Sports Investments’ involvement in Al Thani’s bid to become the next owner of Manchester United.

However, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, the president of Paris Saint-Germain, has addressed the rumors, denying a significant role and stating that he merely served as an adviser.

Al-Khelaifi, quoted by Canal Supporters, expressed amusement at the reports, saying, “To tell you the truth, you make me laugh.” He clarified that, as a Qatari citizen, he frequently receives inquiries from various European associations regarding investments and related matters.

Al-Khelaifi emphasized that if asked for his opinion, he would willingly provide it, not exclusively for Manchester United but for any entity seeking advice. He underscored his deep connection to PSG, emphasizing that it is the only club he is committed to.

As the president of the ECA (European Club Association), Al-Khelaifi shared his broader perspective, expressing his desire for improvements to tournaments and clubs. He highlighted his goal of achieving the best possible outcomes for France in all European leagues and competitions.

Qatar Sports Investments has been strategically acquiring minority stakes in various clubs to enhance its influence. Despite QSI becoming the new owner of Paris Saint-Germain in 2011, the club’s ownership was not entirely taken over.

In the race to become the new owner of Manchester United, Al Thani faces competition from British billionaire Jim Ratcliffe. The outcome of this contest for ownership of Old Trafford will be intriguing to observe as both contenders vie for control.

This development adds another layer of complexity to the ongoing discussions surrounding the potential change in ownership at Manchester United, bringing into focus the role of Qatar Sports Investments and the interests of various stakeholders in European football.
