In January, Arsenal plans to sell four key players to Barcelona and Juventus, making an £80 million transfer move while addressing issues with a struggling striker.

Despite an impressive start to the season, with Arsenal leading the Premier League table and defeating top competitors, there’s a perception that they aren’t as formidable as last season. While still in contention for their first Premier League title in two decades, this campaign is expected to be highly competitive.

In order to enhance their prospects, Arsenal must strengthen their squad in the upcoming transfer window, addressing early-season injury concerns. Manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Edu will need to raise funds by potentially parting ways with certain players. Here are four stars who could leave the Emirates Stadium in the January transfer window.

    1. Aaron Ramsdale:

Despite a successful loan signing of David Raya from Brentford, Arteta’s handling of Ramsdale’s situation has raised questions. Despite the goalkeeper’s stellar performances last season and keeping a clean sheet against Brentford, Arteta emphasized the team effort rather than praising Ramsdale individually. The uncertainty surrounding the need for two No. 1 goalkeepers raises speculation about Ramsdale’s future at Arsenal.

    2. Thomas Partey:

Limited to five appearances in all competitions this season, Partey might be sold for around £30 million in January to bolster Arsenal’s finances. Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa is reportedly being considered as a potential replacement, given his impressive performances that contributed to Villa’s top-four standing.

    3. Kieran Tierney:

Despite recent hamstring troubles that ruled him out against Real Sociedad, Tierney has earned praise for his performances in La Liga. While reports suggest interest from his childhood club Celtic, a potential return to Scotland could be on the cards. The left-back’s loan might conclude early, considering the injury and the possibility of a move back to Celtic.

These potential departures indicate Arsenal’s strategic moves to create room for strengthening the squad in areas of need. The January transfer window offers an opportunity for Arteta and Edu to navigate the complex landscape of player acquisitions and departures, aiming for sustained competitiveness in the challenging Premier League race.
