Bruno Fernandes expressed disappointment with a teammate’s decision during Manchester United’s match against Aston Villa today.

Despite the disappointment, Erik ten Hag’s team demonstrated significant prowess at Villa Park, securing a victory at a venue where many teams have struggled this season.

While Unai Emery’s team has experienced a slight decline in form recently after a strong start to the season, ten Hag’s side appears to be moving in the opposite direction.

The match against Villa showcased numerous positives for United, with players like Alejandro Garnacho continuing to impress on the wing.

Additionally, Rasmus Hojlund contributed another goal to his tally, demonstrating composure to complement his skill and enthusiasm.

Despite Maguire’s impactful performance, assisting Hojlund’s goal, Fernandes was disappointed with a moment involving Harry Maguire during the match against Villa.

During Sky Sports’ live coverage of the game, highlighted by Gary Neville on commentary, Maguire seemed to pass up a golden opportunity in the 61st minute.

Despite United leading 1-0 at the time, Fernandes delivered a superb ball into the box for Maguire to attack.

However, Maguire made an unexpected decision to ignore the chance, much to Fernandes’ frustration. While Maguire may have had reasons for not attempting to reach the ball, Fernandes and viewers alike believed he had a good chance of doing so.

Fernandes’ frustration likely stemmed from the fact that United still needed another goal to secure three points against a formidable Villa side, which was evident when Villa quickly equalized following the missed opportunity.

Nonetheless, Scott McTominay’s goal ultimately secured the victory for United on this occasion.

Overall, it feels like a performance to build upon for United, despite Luke Shaw’s halftime substitution, which may be the only negative if it turns out to be injury-related. Beyond today’s win, Andre Onana recently praised the skill of a player whom United once sold.
