The identity of Manchester United’s high-profile striker acquisition has been revealed tonight.

Manchester United may conclude the January transfer window without securing a new striker, although they are eyeing Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting from Bayern Munich among their potential targets if they opt to bolster their attacking options, according to information obtained by 90min.

Reports suggest that Erik ten Hag, United’s manager, is keen on bolstering the team’s goal-scoring prowess.

However, the club’s primary focus during the winter window remains on outgoing transfers, and significant moves in the market could prove challenging, particularly without the departure of Antony Martial.

United had previously considered Timo Werner in November but did not actively pursue him. Werner has since joined Tottenham Hotspur on loan from RB Leipzig, leaving United’s pursuit uncertain despite their initial interest.

Sources close to the situation have revealed that Choupo-Moting is under consideration by United, with his contract at Bayern Munich set to expire in the summer.

While Choupo-Moting represents a financially viable option for United, there are no concrete developments regarding a potential deal as of now.

Another striker on United’s radar is Serhou Guirassy, who is currently representing Guinea at the Africa Cup of Nations. However, Guirassy appears content to remain at Stuttgart until the end of the season, despite the presence of a release clause.

Looking ahead, United has also internally discussed Jonathan David as a long-term prospect. David’s contract with Lille is set to expire in 2025, and there is speculation that Lille may be forced to consider selling himthis summer.
