On Saturday, Manchester United aimed to extend their unbeaten streak of seven matches against Fulham at Old Trafford.

Despite controversy surrounding Harry Maguire’s presence on the pitch, he managed to equalize in the 89th minute.

However, Fulham delivered a stunning blow as Alex Iwobi scored in the seventh minute of stoppage time, securing a 2-1 victory for the visitors.

With this defeat, United now find themselves eight points adrift of fourth-placed Aston Villa in the race for Champions League qualification next season.

Following the match, United’s captain, Fernandes, was seen expressing frustration towards referee Oliver after the final whistle.

Reflecting on his match-winning goal, Iwobi expressed elation at returning to the team and securing a crucial victory.

He emphasized the team’s recent strong performances and the importance of converting chances into goals. The win serves as a confidence boost for Fulham, instilling belief in their ability to compete at a high level.

Looking ahead, United must regroup for a significant challenge against local rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next Sunday. Before the Manchester derby, United will also face Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Wednesday evening at the City Ground.

The defeat against Fulham serves as a setback for United’s Champions League aspirations, highlighting the need for improved performances in crucial matches.

Despite the disappointment, United must focus on bouncing back and delivering strong performances in upcoming fixtures.
