Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have emerged as the standout stars for FC Barcelona this season, despite their young ages of 16 and 17, respectively.

Both players have made significant strides towards securing permanent spots in the team.

Yamal, who made his senior debut at just 15 years old towards the end of the previous season, has truly flourished this campaign, establishing himself as one of the most promising young talents in football.

Meanwhile, Cubarsi had to wait until January of this year for his breakthrough moment, but since then, he has impressed with his maturity and ease on the pitch, handling difficult matches with remarkable composure.

The remarkable rise of Yamal and Cubarsi has not gone unnoticed, with top clubs across Europe expressing interest in the talented duo.

Yamal is reportedly being monitored by PSG as a potential replacement for Kylian Mbappe, while Cubarsi has also caught the attention of several heavyweight Premier League clubs.

Despite the external interest, Barcelona’s sporting director Deco has provided assurance that the futures of Yamal and Cubarsi are secure. Deco emphasized that the club has a clear plan in place for both players.

Yamal signed his first professional contract with Barcelona in 2023, agreeing to a three-year deal until 2026 due to his status as a minor.

There are plans to extend his contract until 2030 as soon as he turns 18, under an agreement between the club and his representatives, led by superagent Jorge Mendes.

Similarly, Barcelona has initiated discussions with Cubarsi’s representatives regarding a potential contract improvement once he reaches the age of 18.

Despite his current deal running until 2026, the club aims to address the modest €10 million release clause and negotiate better wages for the talented 17-year-old.

Overall, the future looks bright for both Yamal and Cubarsi at Barcelona, with the club committed to nurturing their talents and securing their long-term presence in the team.
