A Liverpool player was absent from training ahead of the important match against Atalanta.

Liverpool is edging closer to welcoming back several key players from injury, but there’s a potential cause for concern ahead of their Europa League quarter-final first leg against Atalanta.

As reported by the Liverpool Echo, Wataru Endo was noticeably missing from training on Tuesday, which could be attributed to his substitution during the recent 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

This absence follows a recent injury that sidelined him for the home victory over Sheffield United, sparking worries about a recurring issue.

Endo’s presence in midfield has been crucial, particularly in facilitating Alexis Mac Allister’s attacking contributions, making his potential absence a cause for concern for Jurgen Klopp.

Being without him for a second consecutive match, particularly during a congested fixture schedule, would be far from ideal.

However, there remains optimism that Endo’s absence from training was merely a precautionary measure, with updates potentially forthcoming during Klopp’s press conference.

Despite the return of Curtis Jones and Stefan Bajcetic’s participation in team training,

Endo’s potential absence would still represent a significant setback given his indispensable role within the team.
